Asked Questions

  • What kind of dog collar should I get?

Every dog and dog owner are different but we put together a quick guide (located on our homepage) on the 5 key things to consider when selecting your new Hatchet K9 dog collar. If you need further assistance send us an email or give us a call, we'd be happy to help guide you in the right direction!

  • Do you have dog collar tags?

The short answer is no, but we plan on having a laser-engraved tag that can hang from your dogs collar available by the end of the year.

  • Do you offer a dog collar with name plates?

The short answer is no again, but we also plan on having an embroidered option that can Velcro directly onto your dog's collar.

  • What is an appropriate dog collar size?

Typically the breed and size of the dog will determine the size of the collar needed. For best fit we can provide some helpful tips on properly measuring the neck of your dog to get the best band.

  • Do your dog collars come with a dog leash?

Each item can be sold separately or included in the same purchase order. We do not provide a leash with a purchase of a single dog collar. Most of our customers, however, do often select a custom-matching leash to go along with their new collar!

  • Is a dog collar tracker right for me?

Not every dog needs a Fi-compatible GPS tracker but it sometimes is a smart option for puppies or untrained pets that like to often test the boundaries. Tracking collars can also be a safety tool for hunting dogs, anyone living on a large property, or anyone who likes to go on long hikes with their dogs off-leash.

  • Are training collars bad for dogs?

No, not at all! They can be a great supplement and tool to be used when educating our pups on acceptable behavior.

  • Should a collar be left on a dog?

This tends to be the preference of the dog and the owner. Most dogs are perfectly ok with having the dog collar on and don't experience irritation - much like a ring on our finger, they get used to it. Should you remove it for a better nights sleep within the home, please do remember to reattach it before letting your dog outside!

  • Can I add to my order?

Yes, certainly! If your order was recently processed, check your shopping cart and simply add to the order. If you are not sure, feel free to give us a call and we can help add whatever you need before we ship it out.

  • Do you take custom orders?

Yes, we do! We love helping create the perfect dog collar for your pup. Reach out and share your thoughts and ideas and we can customize a product you and your dog will love.

6 Quick Reasons

Why Dogs Are The Best Pets!

...In our opinion anyway

Dogs are the perfect companion

Let's face it, dogs are our best friends. They listen when we share our thoughts, they behave (sometimes), and they care about and will protect us. Dogs even get sad when we leave and happy when we arrive.

Dogs keep us healthy

Our beloved pets keep us active, help us sleep better, and even help us live longer! Dogs help lower our stress levels and feel like we're not alone. All they need is some belly rubs in return.

Dogs are fun

Our dogs are nearly down for anything, playing with their toys, your socks, swimming, eating your leftovers, taking selfies, watching a movie, going on a road trip > Pure joy.

Dog are loyal

If it were up to our dogs they would be by our side 24/7. Even after time passes, due to a vacation for example, our pups remember us and will follow our commands over anyone elses.

Dogs are a great sidekick

Dogs are trusted and underpaid by us for many things: as our coworker or mascot; hunting for our next meal; herding on a farm; law enforcement; and service & therapy support to name a few.

Dogs give unconditionally

Sometimes in the daily stresses of life, when we need to take a "paws", our dogs seem to always be there for us and know how to comfort us. They have a knack for making us smile and letting us know everything will be alright.
